Botanical Gardens

On our Sunday off, we usually like to go exploring. Today we found a place called "Southwest Botanical Gardens" that we had heard about and decided to check it out. It was a little expensive (1500 Yen per person) to get in, but it was a nice way to spend a few hours walking around. I was glad I brought my camera to take some good pics!

I love all of the statues of Shi Shi dogs (or Shisa) that are famous in Oki and there were lots of cool ones here at the Gardens...

Most of the plants were tagged so we knew what they were... I can only remember  a few: the bottle palm, coconut palm, alexandra pine, screw pine, banyan tree...

One of my favorite parts was when we came across this field of cows....... I even got to ride one!
                                                                  (dream come true)
                                                                 Cowabunga, dude!

I thought this sink was cool, made out of a giant shell... I thought of my dad trying to come up with decor ideas for a new bathroom he is building... there ya go, dad. Genius.

And, of course there were giant Banana spiders everywhere that gave me the creeps; I made Corey get close enough to take a pic of this one that had especially creepy fangs.

 Playing leap frog...
