Sunday Adventure

I recently visited an egg farm with some friends, and was excited to see they had a "mini zoo" to walk through as well. Corey had not seen it yet, so we went together this past Sunday. The egg farm sells local eggs and homemade bakery items, although the actual chickens that laid the eggs were no where to be found. Anyways, they housed a variety of other animals (in small cages); there were tons of birds, rabbits, monkeys, turtles, guinea pigs, some roosters, a pony, a very sad chipmunk…. and more.  None of the animals looked like they were thriving and Corey and I decided we don't like zoos much… I thought about setting the chipmunk free. Corey once told me of a story of when he was younger and he set his neighbor's rabbits free from their cages... I guess we think alike :)

this little guy was so neat- he was digging like crazy in his dirt pen

After leaving the egg farm, we stopped at a nearby dam to take a walk. There was a good walking path and some nice views of fresh water, something we don't see too often here. I didn't take any pictures of the actual dam, though!

Azalea Festival

We were invited to go to an annual festival over the weekend by some friends, and jumped at the chance. The Azalea Festival is held every March a couple hours north from us, in Higashi Village. It was a nice walk with thousands of flowers to admire, and some festival food to top it off. Here are some pictures I took on our walk through the azaleas….

Posing

This concrete bridge did not have any support beams under the middle… it wobbled as you walked across!
